Preception

What influences our economy of seeing different things would be racism. Everyone in the world has a different way of looking at one another. We make illusions with our eyes and we judge with what we see. The video that we watched by "TED" Shows an example of illusions we have with our eyes and what we see differently with colors. Everyone is completely different in their own way but we are all stereo types in a way. Seeing is believing and a lot of us use our eyes to see what the obvious thing is but we don't stop and take time to think if its the right answer. I believe that everyone should actually use their brain instead of using their eyes. If we did this it would probably stop racism and everyone could not be judged by the way they look.

Journal #1: Watchmen

In the story "watchmen" Theirs a section in the story that reminds me when I was in grade 8 that effected me in my life. Chapter 6, page 1-7, "Rorschach is sent in for some counselling. He is being showed pictures of shapes on what he sees." I thought it was a good to explain this part of the story since it shows how he was a child and how he was treated different. The quote reminds me when I was in grade 8. I was drawing images that made me feel creative inside. I drew children hanging from the ceiling in cages, children on the floor with their faces taken off, and children with bags over their heads that were all lined up infront of a guy who sat their with a blade. The image in the picture seemed to be cutting the childrens faces and sewing on to his.
I was looking at everything diffrent from my own view in life. Thats when my teacher found my image and I got sent to councelling. Just like in the story from "Watchmen" Rorscarch got sent to councelling for somthing he saw diffrently. He got asked questions in a room, seperated from the outside world. Just like me, I too felt seperated. I got asked questions in a room about what the image as in, what it was, what was I trying to say in the image, how does this image make me feel. The first thing that popped into my head was "creative" I said the image made me feel nothing, it was an image that I got encouraged by a horror movie "which was a lie." The councellor said it was just a cry of attention, a way of showing that I shouldn't watch too much horror movies. From my way of seeing it, I think it was more of being creative. The book "watchmen is very interesting and their are a few things that connect with me in the story. I believe I relate the most with the character Rorscarch.

WatchMen "Connector"

Two connection i have with this book would be...

1. Death. In the the book "watchmen" a person dies and everyone is sad. They all come to the funeral even if they weren't close friends. This part in the story reminds me of my uncles funeral...my dad and him never got along because they both made a big deal of every little thing when would go to my aunts place. My aunt is my dads sister so it was hard to visit her when her husband and my dad would argue. But even though they didn't get along my dad still attended the funeral.

2. The book "watchmen" reminds me of criminals. In our community we have criminals that steal, kill, and rape. Their are good people that do good things, and bad people that do bad things.From my own prospective I see in the book that their are more criminals than heroes. I see in the outside world theirs more crimes that are happening. This relates to me because its one of the reasons I want to be a cop someday

"Dreams take us on journeys"

When I was tired In the evening I decided to take a nap. I woken up to find myself in a place filled with strange trees that were oddly shaped in strange forms. I was afraid, so I started walking along a path that led up a hill. I made my way along the path, but every time I took a step, the tree's would change their shape. It was very strange and I didn't like it. It seemed as if they were following me. By the time I got to the top of the hill, The tree's had surrounded me and I was trapped. I had no way out! A giant shadow from the sky flew in circles around me. I looked up to what seemed to be a giant Seagull!! It swooped down and ripped the trees roots to free me. I was saved! I quickly jumped out and started running. Suddenly the seagull turned around and chased me. I thought It was trying to free me at first, but really it was really trying to eat me! I ran so fast, desperately looking for somewhere to hide, until I tripped over a bow and arrow. I Picked it up and dogged the giant Seagulls beak as it flew past my head. It turned around and glided towards me to make another strike. I took aim and pulled the arrow back with all my might. As soon as the giant seagull got close enough, I let go of the arrow. It shot powerfully straight with it whistling through the air directly drilling through the eye of the giant seagull and coming out the other end. The giant seagull made a loud screech and crashed face first to the ground as I heard a loud snap that made me realise it broke its neck. The giant seagull was dead, but for some reason its wings where still flapping. It was as if the giant seagulls wings had a mind of their own. The wings were lifting the bloody body of the giant seagull to the sky. I quickly grabbed the body down and tore the wings off the seagull and stuck the wings on my back. The wings carried me high into the sky as I watched the giant dead seagull below get further and further away. As I flew higher and higher I woke up to find myself laying on the floor by my couch in the living room. I went to check the time and I had only slept for 5 minutes.

WatchMen Illustrator

I chose to draw this image of a person, revealing his true self under the mask.
At this point of the novel, the comedian hides his side of his past from vietnam
like mistakes he made and murders. He covers his face with a mask and acts like everythings a joke so he can hide what he's afraide of. Before his death, he reveals his true self to the enemy of how scared he truely is.

Spawn

The Movie "Spawn" Was a very good movie for its time till now. The movie is about a guy named "Albert Francis" also known as "Al" who kills human targets by following orders from a powerful man who ends up pouring Al with gasoline and lighting him up on fire. Al is brought to hell were he makes a deal with the devil of leading his army. Arriving back from hell to our world he is severely burnt from his face down to his toes. He realises that he lost everything from a betrayal. The only thing that he has is the armor and he's putting the use to plot revenge. Watching the movie surprised me that the graphics in this film was incredible for a year 1997 made movie. The story Line in this movie was a little fast and you couldn't quite understand it. The fighting scenes was awesome, I mean when he was learning how to use his weapons and attacking his enemies it was really well done. The problem for this film was when spawn was fighting Clown "The giant beast" in hell. The picture in this fighting scene was very confusing with flames whirling and twirling around in the background while the camera was moving fast zooming up close to their faces and zooming out from their fight. I found it really annoying.. I was disappointed for this part of final fight. The movie had a good ending at least.

The Body

It was 5:42 am and I arrived at a crime here in Vancouver. Adrenalin rushed to me when I approached the body laying on the bathroom floor of hotel room. I was called down for an investigation of a murder that took place at around 4 a.m. The blood was still wet and warm and had filled the air with a sick smell that burned the inside of my nostrils as I studied the lifeless corpse. Their was a knife with the woman's blood found in the investigation of the problem but her fingerprints were all over it. The woman was bleeding from the inside of her stomach and had 42 stabs to the stomach Their was no signs of anyone else with the victim; and their was no sign of anyone breaking in. We took photos of the dead body and closed the case as a Suicidal action.

Interview

I am interviewing my friend Ryan about his Foosball skills. I will ask him questions and type his reply after.



How do you aim the ball on the other side of the opponents net fast?

His reply was.."You just do."



What is your technique in Foosball?

His reply was.. "shoot and score."



Now Ryan, tell me this.. If your opponents score was ahead of you.. How would you feel?

His reply was "slightly frustrated."



Do you ever get tired of Foosball?

His reply was "NO WAY! I never get tired of Foosball!"



What do you think about when you play Foosball? Whats on your mind?

His reply was.. "ultimately destroying my opponent!!!"



Which is your best person in the game to control in this game? Goalie? Defence? Out field or Offence?

His reply was.. "My right offence sniper."



What do you think of yourself when you play Foosball?

His reply was.."I'm the best thing in the world!!"



Is their any tips you can give me to be the best like you?

His reply was.. "Set up, pass, and shoot randomly"



Now Ryan when you beat an opponent how do you show your sportsmanship towards your him or her?

His reply was.."I call them a worthy opponent and shake their hands"

Top 3

The top three video games ranked by myself are Halo 3, Modern warfare 2, and

Assassin creed 2. These criterias of mine will explain why I picked these games out of all the rest and why I have interst in playing them. The points I will give out on my observation will show what I think of each game and will try to convince you, which one is better. My reasons on the games where not copy and pasted from another site. This is my ideas about the games and my topic.



My criteria on halo 3 are How is the game played better than other games? Why the graphics are better? and What makes this game more fun? I would prefer Halo 3 better than all the other games because theirs more excitment in the game. The graphics in the game are better for me because its clear and understanding, It suits my eyes in game play. What makes this game more fun than the others is the victory of a kill. You gain skills with ranking up and unlocking diffrent armor. The game has an online gaming, which you can play with other players around the world. Everytime you play Halo 3 theirs progress in getting better. The graphics in halo 3 are pretty good and the gameing is awsome.



My criteria on Modern warfare 2 are What makes this game more fun? How is the game more understanding than other? Why the graphics are better? I would pick Modern warfare than any other games because its more fun. You go around shooting people as much as you can, till you drop dead. The game is more fun when its fair cause you dont heal automatically.The game is more understandings of keeping track of your kills, your ranks, and your Time. The graphics in the game is very realistic from the landscapes down to the smallest rock. They captured every detail, It was pretty graphic when their was action on the battle field. I would rate this game a ten out of ten.



My criteria on Assassins Creed 2 are what makes the game more exciting? How is this more fun than other games? Why does this game have better graphics? I would pick Assassins Creed 2 out of all the games the best because the game has more excitment when it comes to the fighting. The game gives you a sword, a dagger, and an arrow. What makes this game fun is You go around assassinating targets who have done somthing to you in the story, and you get to destroy stuff withought getting in trouble. The game has better graphics because of the whole background in the game. The Blood in the games is very graphic and looks very convincing what a human would look like if he or she was beheaded. Assassins creed has alot of objectives to keep you busy when you have nothing to do.

Super Powers

If I could have a super power, I would pick ice powers out of all the rest. Why I chose this power was, its interesting. You can freeze people when you want them to stop. You have a fun and faster way of transportation turning your surroundings to ice, while you slide your way around. I won't be cold since I have ice powers and that the power takes over my body. Fire is weak against ice powers, so I can over come any attack that deals with fire. If I wanted myself to live longer, I would freeze myself and de-frost myself at anytime. The place where my powers would be invincible would be in a place full of snow. I would be able to shape myself to any form with ice and snow. Such as making myself big or small. The thing about ice powers.. is that you have an ability to be creative with sculpting. Ice powers can give you really good defence, that can defend you from anything, If it doesn't just re-frost yourself.
